I began my weight loss journey on April 27th 2022 after I had returned from a funeral. While away attending the funeral I had sent a picture to my family, and one of my sisters having not seen me in a while noticed how big I had become.
She brought it to my attention that I had put on quite a bit a weight. I had actually heard this same message before, from some friends who are around me more often, but I did not take it seriously.
A week prior to attending the funeral, I had just gotten over a cold that had lingered for about a month, and it caused an alarm for me that I needed to take my health more seriously. I had been traveling a lot and because of that, including the time of the lockdowns, I didn’t make eating healthy food and exercise a priority. The lockdowns had my mind in survival mode and traveling had me in exploration mode. I wanted to try every dish that looked tasty.
Now that I have settle down a bit, I feel it’s time for me to really devote effort to improving my health. Hence this post, and the many to follow in which I will share updates about my eating habits, food choices, and how that is impacting my weigh loss.
My goal is to release 44 lbs. and as of this writing I have lost 3lbs 8 ounces. Thus far I had a few setbacks due to my enjoyment of food and over indulgence of it, But I am still on track.
I am moving steady towards my goal and I have not set a date for when I’d like to have release the weight because I am choosing to take it one day at a time. I don’t have any event I am preparing for whereas I need to fit into a small dress by a certain date, and I don’t want the added pressure which comes from setting expectations and deadlines that may not be reached on my timetable.
At the end of the day, I am dealing with a body here that has a mind of its own, and only it knows the rate at which it wants to let go of the weight. All I can do is do my part, feed it healthy foods at the right times, exercise, think “I am getting slimmer,” and it will do the rest.
If you have some pounds you want to lose, join me in this journey, we can do it together.
In the comments below, let me know how many pounds you want to release.
Till next post, wishing you all the best!
Elishema.

I assume because of my two restaurant days of eating and not making sure I was eating healthy, I put 0.8 lbs back on. It took a couple of days to show up. Very interesting.
Food Gallery
Below is a gallery containing some of the foods I consumed. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I mostly drank water with meals. However on some occasions I did succumb to the pop and juice. But I did my best to keep it to a minimum. I learned along time ago not to drink my calories. However sometimes I still do it.
